Faces of An Atmosphere

My exploration of watercolor has allowed me to manipulate another wet medium, which can help show a type of breadth. Subject matter, such as the gentleman in his chair, also shows an expansion on the concept of the conveyance of emotion. The environment of a character is just as important as the character himself. This is seen in the piece as something more prominent in concept, since the apparent subject has little or no definition, especially in the face. However, the shadows and objects in the room are dominating him. They are even taking shapes of their own kinds. The shadow is even leaning opposite the man. The colored face shows more hidden emotion through color. The pose is neutral, with a hinting smile, but her face seems burned and intensified with the color red. Much orange also intensifies her face by adding intelligence, while some of the shading adds mystery.

Multimedia and Animation

I am set on the road to pursue multimedia as a career. However, I find that animation would also be something in which I would be interested. The work environments are typically office spaces, which could be considered a negative to some aspects of health, but I would prefer the atmosphere. Research and development of projects for both fields would entail much concept design, which is also something that greatly interests me. They offer the opportunity to delve deep into broadcasting original ideas, though, it would seem that multimedia would be able to utilize this on a greater scale. I find it appealing that multimedia involves animating skills in the process of developing films, effects, and technological advances, while making characters and stories move forward.

Moving Along

The weather has limited me to my other projects, though I have found much motivation to get some projects accomplished. This drive has pertained to more personal projects, but I look forward to applying this drive and some ideas to more works for the portfolio. I think this drive is here to stay.

Work in Progress

The collage is developing gradually, though, more variety of mediums need to be used. The two boxes and portrait were presented well. More is wanted to be done with other emotion pieces.

Collaging

I have begun a collage piece that I intend to carry my former theme: old versus new. With this idea, the theme of emotion has a potential to flesh out more of the middle and foreground of the piece. This allows me to incorporate one of my other prints. The boxes are growing static, so I am attempting to use the remaining prints with other project ideas, but not veering off the theme of emotion.

Second Semester Beginnings

I am hoping to incorporate some of my theme into my new collage. It may even include some pieces of an extra print from a former project. The larger shadow box should surmount the quality of the first boxes due to scale. The collage may add to breadth and a standard size background drawing should be the base for another shadow box piece.

Finally, We're Making Progress

I was somewhat pleased with the result of my box frame on Wednesday. I mostly like it because of the ideas generated following the outcome. I was thinking of perhaps making a bigger frame with multiple layers of transparent sheets. Perhaps this could convey a sequence of emotions.
